This is the latest custom doll! It was so exciting to work on this doll but also a little nerve racking as I know the gentlemen it is of!
Made for a birthday present for one of his children, this doll captures the person he is. He is know for wearing his flipflops a lot so they needed to be added :) and he plays guitar in the church and so in case you can't guess he is also the minister! He sports a good goaty beard too :) !
I hand painted the guitar as my screenprinted version is more of an electric guitar and so thought that suited him better.
A delightful Mummy and Daddy dolls that I finished recently.
The Mummy had a skirt and top and the daddy had a great checked shirt.
I have acquired some new thin brushes so really happy with the hand painted element, like the glasses for this one.
Also working on a couple of dolls this week so hopefully share soon and also still working on birds for business client so lots of cutting out today! 24 to make in all so that's 96 pieces to cut just for the wings!
The plush fabric is beautiful to cuddle up to but can only be cut up double layered so no saving time on multi cut outs!
so off to work I go!

I loved making this doll! I was contacted by a Mother who had her own Daddy doll when she was growing up and was looking for one for her child. We chatted through what she was after, I loved adding the curls to the hair and pockets to the shorts and working on the right images for the front of the shirt.
These dolls where for brothers. I didn't have a photo of the Daddy to show you likeness but it was my first order for two the same! How great to be seeing double!
A good friend of mine who I had made a doll for in the past (currently can't find photos as old laptop has died since then and so not sure what memory/computer/disc they are on!) and so wanted one for her Grandchild. It can sometimes feel more nerve wrecking knowing they couple who are going to receive the doll! Knowing how special a doll in the wedding outfit is going to be, it was a great privilege to get the essence of the the Daddy in the doll. The bow tie and braces was a new challenge, which I loved! (and promptly had my son ordering the Doctor Who doll you saw a couple of post ago!)
Here is a view of the back and close up of the tie.....
Happy sewing x
Who doesn't love a bow tie and braces?!
And did you spot the bike cuff links? aren't they just wonderful!
